IHCA Press Statement on the National Service Plan
Mr Martin Varley, IHCA Secretary General, said there is a serious concern that the 2013 National Service Plan underestimates the likely demand for hospital services. He said patient demand is growing and hospitals are finding it very difficult to care for the increased numbers due to insufficient resources. To be effective, the National Service Plan needs to redirect sufficient resources to front line hospital and mental health services and away from administration.
